Who we are

Irori is a Japanese street food truck operating across Brighton and Sussex, run by Koji Suzuki trading as Irori.

This policy explains what personal data we collect through iroristreetfood.co.uk, our email address, and when you get in touch with us about bookings, events or general enquiries. It also covers our social media accounts, though Instagram, TikTok and Facebook have their own privacy policies for data collected on their platforms.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, email us at hello@iroristreetfood.co.uk.

What data we collect

When you contact us or make a booking enquiry

If you use our contact or booking form, or email us directly, we collect:

  • Your name

  • Your email address

  • Your phone number, if you give it to us

  • Details about your event: date, location, guest numbers, and anything else you tell us

‍ We only use this to respond to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to plan and deliver your event.

If you sign up to hear from us

If you subscribe to updates or a mailing list, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your name. We only send what you've signed up for, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

‍ ‍

When you visit our website

‍Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar technology to understand how it's being used, for example which pages are visited and how people found us. This may include your IP address, browser and device type. We use this to keep the site running well and to see what's useful to visitors, not to identify you personally.

‍ ‍

Social media‍ ‍

If you message us, comment, or tag us on Instagram or TikTok, we can see what you've shared with us there. We don't collect anything beyond what those platforms already show us, and their own privacy policies apply to how they handle your data.

‍ ‍

Payments

If you book or buy something through our website, any payment details are handled directly by our payment provider. We don't see or store your full card details.

‍ ‍

Why we collect it

We only collect what we need, and only for these reasons:

  • To respond to enquiries and arrange bookings (necessary to provide the service you've asked for)

  • To send you updates you've asked for, like event confirmations or newsletter content (with your consent, where required)

  • To understand and improve how our website is used (our legitimate interest in running a good website)

  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations

‍ ‍

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing.

We use a small number of trusted services to run Irori, and they process some data on our behalf:

  • Squarespace, who host our website

  • Google Analytics, to understand website traffic

‍ ‍

These providers only use your data to help us provide our service, under their own data protection agreements. Some may process data outside the UK; where that happens, they're required to have appropriate safeguards in place.

We'll only share your data beyond this if we're legally required to.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking details for as long as we need to plan your event, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.

‍ ‍

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you

  • Ask us to correct anything inaccurate

  • Ask us to delete your data

  • Ask us to restrict or object to how we use it

  • Ask for your data in a portable format

  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we're relying on it

‍ ‍

To do any of this, email hello@iroristreetfood.co.uk. We'll respond within a month.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), the UK's data protection regulator.

Keeping your data safe‍

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal data we hold, including relying on the security measures built into the platforms we use. No system is completely secure, but we don't hold more data than we need, and we don't keep it longer than necessary.‍ ‍

Changes to this policy‍ ‍

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as Irori grows or we start using new tools. Any changes will be posted here with an updated date.
